What will you do

Due to government restriction, this offer in only open to workers with an EU nationality. The whole world is Coek’s field of operations, but it was in Belgium that the Coek story started in 1966. What makes it a success story is that today Coek has grown into one of the top international vendors for pressure vessels and heat exchangers for challenging projects. Coek has the required expertise in-house to design and fabricate equipment for the chemical, petrochemical and mining sector as well as for compressor manufacturers. With a team of 120 people, two production sites and a total production surface area of over 100 000 square meters – of which 35000 square meters are shop floor – Coek is one of the larger companies in this sector.

Coek fabricates mostly large pressure vessels (reactors, columns) with diameters 5 to 10 m and thickness 50 to 145mm. Final vessel weighs up to 900ton. The welding work consists mostly of butt welding of heavy plates (50-145mm) in carbon steel.All welds are 100% RT or UT examined. Typical tasks are: Welding root passes of longitudinal & circular seams (butt weld) in large cylinders, including preheating. Mostly in flat or horizontal positions, sometimes in “all” positions. Welding root passes and filling of nozzle implant in large cylinders and heads, including preheating. Grinding between weld layers, back grinding and back gouging. Grinding flat of seams. Fillet welds of clips, saddles etc. in all positions. The welder will have to perform qualification tests (WPQ) for qualification by Coek’s Welding Engineer. (ASME code)

What are your skills

Good level of English language. Understanding and interpretation of weld procedures. Experience with Mig/Mag (GMAW/FCAW) plate welding of carbon steel, with proven UT/RT results, in different positions. Working in 2 or 3 shift system No fear of working on heights. Ability to work with overhead cranes, forklift and boom lift. Experience with Submerged Arc Welding (SAW) or Tig welding (GTAW) is a plus.

What our client offers

You will work in a 40H week, with some potential overtime options. A net wage between 472€ (early shift) and 507€ ( late shift ). After 1 year, you can have the opportunity to also work during the night shift. After 6 months you also get 6€/day mealvouchers.
